CSI

With Corporate Social Investment (CSI) within the South African context becoming ever more strategically focused, it makes sense for businesses to align their corporate social investment spend with their core business objectives and imperatives.

As as the social needs facing our country are substantial, it is a moral duty for big business to make a difference by supporting projects that benefit historically disadvantaged sectors of our society.

Against his background, and guided by the key social development needs highlighted by government, Aluref has become involved with various CSI projects.

Aluref partnered with an NGO, The Orphan Care Foundation and we are currently actively involved with the Foundation’s “Bed for A Child” project.

With the assistance and co-operation of the South 32 Hillside Aluminium Smelter, we remove timber from the site that was used as packaging material and discarded as waste.

This wood is then taken back to our offices and upcycled to produce wooden beds and tables which are then donated to various affiliated organisations for distribution in and around Richards Bay - Mzingazi, Madlazini, Esakhweni and various villages.

Aluref SA has the welfare and progress of the community at heart.
